WEDDINGS
A BIT ABOUT YOU
A couple of human beings that inexplicably but perfectly fit together to form YOU. And one thing I can confirm, after hanging out with over 400 couples on their wedding day, is that no two YOU’S are ever the same.
There are common themes of course: Collectively I’m guessing you will not be the type of couple who enjoys having their photo taken? There’s a good chance you have attended many a wedding and been frustrated by the photographer ordering you and your fellow guests around. Gathering you all up like sheep for what seems like an endless list of groups shots, forced silliness and faux fun.
You want to do things a little differently. And whilst that may not mean arriving on Elephant back or pogo sticks, it will mean putting your stamp, your personalities, your little quirks and loves into your plans and ideas. You will want to put the YOU into your wedding.
And the suppliers you choose to invite along to your wedding won’t be invited because of their ability to bash out safe and samey flowers/cakes/food/photos. OH NO! They will be chosen because they want to create something as fresh, different and unique as YOU. Vendors whose creativity you can trust. Whose work you love. Whose passion sings out when you look at their work.
“You have perfectly captured EVERY intimate, crazy, emotional, bonkers and sweaty moment!”

I LOVE TO TRAVEL
A Northern Boy and Beardy Dad with an eye for the ordinary. I have always loved to travel and have been travelling over seas for weddings for over 10 years now. I limit myself to 2 or 3 per year so I can travel at least 1 full day ahead of the wedding, acclimatise, meet you at the venue for a cocktail and really get to know your guests and make them feel fully comfortable around my cameras.
Having that additional time before and after the Wedding day really lets me flex my documentary approach and capture so many more unseen moments and memories.
I have been Lucky enough to capture Weddings in Tuscany, Puglia, Santorini, Ibiza and many regions of France.
HOW I WORK ON THE DAY
01.
GETTING READY
THE CALM. THE CHAOS. CAPTURED
For me this isn’t about interrupting you and choreographing your hair and make up artists or moving stuff around. it’s entirely the opposite. It’s about documenting a part of the day that when you look back on your images 10-20-30 years from now will remind you how you felt: the nerves, the excitement, the giggles, the bubbles the chaos.
02.
THE INBETWEEN
SEARCHING FOR THE UNKNOWN IN THE INBETWEEN
Guests will arrive, a ceremony will happen, confetti may be thrown, a cake may be cut, speeches may get spoken AND it will all be captured BUT you know what? It’s the bits in between all these planned moments that will make your wedding different from everybody else’s.
Think of me as a moment junkie, prowling your wedding for the good stuff. The characters, the energy, the bits you didn’t even know happened. I chat with your guests and aim to make everybody feel comfortable around me so they relax, let go and allow me access without playing up for the camera.
In fact the only time I step in and choreograph anything is to spend 10 minutes grabbing any family group shots you may want? and to sneak you both off unnoticed for some relaxed and alternative couple shots.
03.
THE PARTY
I BET THAT YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR
My advice? Have a first dance. I’m all for sacking off any tradition that doesn’t add any benefit (have you ever looked up the meaning of the cake cut?) BUT to focus all your guests attention on the dance floor after that post dinner lull really announces the start of the party.
Sway together for a couple of bars and then invite them to join you and as soon as the track ends get your band or DJ to kick off with a banger and let the chaos ensue. And for all my destination Weddings I will stay for as long as the chaos keeps coming……right until the last sweaty track if needed.
