The enforced increase in smaller weddings last year allowed some venues that traditionally believed they were a little too small to host a wedding to start making use of some really cool but more intimate spaces. Because as last year reminded us you don’t need hundreds of folks to make a wedding…sometimes just a few. Or in the case of Laura + James 50 of your closest most precious friends and family gathered together in a cool back room space in East London.

The Hackney Coffee Company ticks all my kinda wedding photography boxes. Light filled, industrial, quirky. Full of character and texture. A hidden gem. I loved it and cant wait to be back.

But the best thing about L+J’s Super Stylin’ City Wedding was the love, emotion, happiness and Guinness that flowed in that little hidden space in Hackney.

As James’ Dad put it in his super emotional speech, The Myo (its Japanese…..look it up!!)

A few highlights from a truly special day x

As a wedding photographer who loves a City Wedding I’m no stranger to Marylebone Town Hall and this was my fourth visit in just a few months. Such a grand, historic and beautiful place to get married. A true hero of the London Wedding scene. Just standing outside watching wave after wave of happiness pour out onto those Iconic steps always makes me feel a bit itchy in the eyes! And for Laura + James it was no different and also the perfect Juxtaposition for their reception venue.
