A Quirky Country House Wedding In Dorset

a portrait shot inside st Giles house shell grotto

Alternative Wedding Photography // Kez + Chris // St Giles House // Dorset

I had high hopes for Kez + Chris’s wedding. Firstly based on our chats about their plans for the day and secondly knowing it would be my first visit to a venue I had wanted to shoot for a while.

The day or the venue didnt let me down. K+C were super relaxed and full of fun and St Giles House is a dream for a more alternative wedding photographer. Full of quirks and exposed bits of history, pockets of light and texture PLUS easily the biggest and best  shell grotto I have never seen…and (wait for it) A RAVE CAVE with an AV system the likes I haven’t seen since I last shot in Ibiza.

Here’s some brief highlights of yet another fantastic 2021 wedding.

The staircase and landing at St Giles House are a wedding photographers dream. Eccentric and moody and the perfect start to a (very long) walk to a beautiful outdoor ceremony under clear blue skies. In fact the whole house has an air of eccentricity and character that I absolutely loved. A dream wedding venue, perfectly imperfect and elegantly unfinished..right up my alley!

No better way to finish a perfect day than down in the Rave Cave. I’ve ben lucky to come across a fair few but St Giles wins hands down. Sound proofing, world class sound system, lighting, smoke machines…my ears are still ringing!!!

Thanks K+C for letting me hang out and rave with you…..I had a blast!!

And for anybody planning their big day at St Giles House you can contact me for info (HERE)
