If you ever visit the Isle of Man locals will ask you “Are you from the island?” And when you answer with a little trepidation ” Nope” they ALL will say “It’s nice to meet. Welcome to the Isle of Man ”

And I like that.

And that Manx hospitality was offered to me at every step of my flying visit, especially by Alice and Kohi and all their friends and family who welcomed me into the celebrations like a long lost friend from the mainland.

I first met Alice way back in early 2020 at A Most Curious Wedding Fair in East London and although Alice spent her formative years on the island A+K definitely brought a sense of their London home along with them. Especially in the form of Alice’s show stopping Half Penny London Wedding Dress.

And just to complete a perfect day, easily the greatest Vicar I have ever met (and there have been a few) Father Iaen not only had the Glaswegian lilt of Billy Connolly but also the humour and timing of the great man.
